Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use the website, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be kept as needed to respond. We limit access to our team and disclose the message outside the organization only when legally required.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive routine technical information when a page loads:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • Device IP address
  • Visited pages and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when available

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages are visited most and where sessions end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the website function.

What We Do With This Data

  • Sending a submitted search to the selected provider
  • Diagnosing errors and performance problems
  • Operating the website and improving load speed
  • Measuring which content visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material explains how to reach Bonner County Sheriff's Records, Bonner Court Records, Idaho State Police BCI, and the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern information entered there, including retention and disclosure. We do not control those practices. Review the applicable provider policy before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Bonner County offices, Idaho agencies, court portals, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may track activity across websites for targeted advertising. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search providers processing submitted queries
  • Advertising networks serving ads
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. Idaho's Public Records Act, title 74, chapter 1, governs access to records held by Idaho public agencies, while Idaho Code § 67-3008 controls dissemination of BCI criminal-history information. Those government-record laws do not turn this private resource into a public agency. At a minimum, a visitor may:

  • Request access to personal information we hold
  • Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
  • Seek deletion of personal information
  • Opt out of eligible forms of processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. Any revised text will appear here with a new effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
